GI-go is a graphical client developed to easily demonstrate the capabilities of the GI-cat catalog service. User make distributed queries based on common search criteria (where, when, who, what) and gets metadata results from a variety of data sources. Data preview and download is also supported.

The latest versions of GI-go are below listed for download. Stable versions are recommended for reliability in a production system. Beta versions contain the latest features and bugfixes and are recommended for testing and evaluating GI-go. Alpha versions are available only to GI-go developers for internal tests.

Try it:

  • As a stand-alone application: download the platform independent box_download_48.png ZIP bundle, unzip it and launch appropriately (see the README for instructions)
  • Java Web Start application distribution is IN DEBUG STAGE.

Please note that GI-go requires Java SE 7 (at the latest update). You may need to download and install it. GI-go is tested on the latest Sun JVM update, on Windows and Linux, and on the latest Apple JVM update, on MacOS.

This is the latest snapshot version of GI-go.

Try it:

GI-go Configurations

You can test GI-go with a preconfigured set of services. Please visit the endpoints page to download a configuration from a selected list. A detailed guide to import the EUROGEOSS configuration is available here.
